چکیده

Weapon System Capability Assessment (WSCA) is the initial point of quantification of capabilities in the military capability planning (MCP). WSCA is often a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem with both quantitative and qualitative information under uncertain environment. In this paper, the analysis process and algorithm for WSCA problem is proposed on the basis of belief structure (BS) model and evidential reasoning (ER) approach which were developed to deal with various types of uncertainties such as ignorance and subjectiveness. First of all, the WSCA criteria hierarchy is built by analyzing how the capability is measured. Secondly, a weapon system capability model is formulated using BS. Thirdly, both qualitative and quantitative information involved in capability measure are transformed into BSs by the data transformation algorithm based on rules. Then, the analytical ER approach is used to aggregate the capability measurement information from sub-capability criteria to top-capability criterion, and the assessed weapon systems are ranked and analyzed according to utility intervals. Finally, a case study of real Main Battle Tank capability assessment is explored to show the proposed process for WSCA. 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Comprehensive Decision Modeling of Reverse Logistics System: A Multi-criteria Decision Making Model by using Hybrid Evidential Reasoning Approach and TOPSIS (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In the last two decades, product recovery systems have received increasing attention due to several reasons such as new governmental regulations and economic advantages. One of the most important activities of these systems is to assign returned products to suitable reverse manufacturing alternatives. Uncertainty of returned products in terms of quantity, quality, and time complicates the decis...

Nonlinear information aggregation via evidential reasoning in multiattribute decision analysis under uncertainty

In many decision situations, it is inevitable to deal with both quantitative and qualitative information under uncertainty. Evidence-based reasoning within a multiple criteria decision analysis framework provides an alternative way of handling such information systematically and consistently. In this paper, the evidential reasoning (ER) approach is introduced, which is based on a recursive ER a...

Evidential reasoning based preference programming for multiple attribute decision analysis under uncertainty

Multiple attribute decision analysis (MADA) problems having both quantitative and qualitative attributes under uncertainty can be modelled and analysed using the evidential reasoning (ER) approach. Several types of uncertainty such as ignorance and fuzziness can be consistently modelled in the ER framework. In this paper, both interval weight assignments and interval belief degrees are consider...

Hierarchical Evidential Reasoning-based Assessments of New Product Development Strategies

This paper is geared toward the development of a hierarchical evidential reasoning-based model for manufacturers to determine the relative importance of decision factors for NPD strategy assessments. Incorporated the findings of focus group discussions and interviews with experts in Hong Kong, an assessment model of NPD strategies is devised using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Ev...

Using Fuzzy Evidential Reasoning for Multiple Assessment Fusion in Spondylarthropathic Patient Self-management

This paper proposes an approach for an ICT-supported medical assessment, by mergingmeasures of signs and symptoms from heterogeneous sources. The disease status estimate of patients that suffer from spondylarthropathy is evaluated with different types of uncertainties using a fuzzy rule-based evidential reasoning (FURBER) approach. The approach treats measures of signs and symptoms in order to ...
